About my recent project, I’m obsessed with the subtleness of touch on the fingertips, with texture and temperature I feel on my palms; how emotion ripples while objects and I are infecting each other. My mixed cultural background is not only revealed in the painting, but in the material. I use traditional materials from Original Chinese paintings, rice paper and Juan/silk, as well as wood and computer technology. By painting fleeting moments of my actions and making semi-irrational short gifs, I keep questioning and tracking my actions, the “hand language” of my emotion, my identity, my judgement and decision. Will the wavelet of emotion and the touch itself expand and change the world, or reveal anything? I question who I am and who you are with presence of objects and absence of the body.
